MIX-m - Needle Light by Scanner

MIX-m - Scanner's WORK

I use technology to recover, capture and transform sound, and recording and performance to interrogate its meaning and context, adding new layers of significance. Recording and redirecting these moments back into the public stream enables me to construct archaeology of loss, pathos and missed connections, a momentary forgotten past in our digital future, radioactive fossils of sound, image and the imagination.
Needle Light is a non-narrative work, which explores a way of experiencing art in a multi-dimensional, multi-sensory way. Blurring senses with light and sound, it offers a snapshot of what is possible within the flux of digital art.
Scanner, British artist Robin Rimbaud, traverses the experimental terrain between sound, space, image and form, creating absorbing, multi-layered sound pieces that twist technology in unconventional ways. As well as producing compositions and audio CDs, his diverse body of work includes soundtracks for films, performances, radio, and site-specific multimedia installations. His work has been presented throughout the United States, Asia, Australia and Europe.
